Specific Responsibilities

Overall Responsibilities:

The candidate’s primary role is to identify and move the sales process through effective project support and management. They will be responsible for identifying the business needs that drive the programs and implement effective solutions to meet those needs. The position requires excellent project management skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic, global team environment. The ideal candidate should have time management skills, be a fast learner, a self-starter, and someone with genuine interest in Product Development, Manufacturing and Sales.

This position will have involvement in the sales cycle from product conception to acceptance and ongoing management. The candidate will support the development and delivery of the product to the client and then review the ongoing sales performance data. 

The candidate reports to the Senior Vice President, Whalen LLC., and provides administrative support for the Sales Team. This position will be managed out of a remote office in Framingham (Greater Boston), MA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate sales opportunities through project management tools and understand the product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage multiple product flowcharts consisting of myriad details per item, per vendor.
  • Obtain a level of product understanding to respond to questions on product features, functionality, and technical specifications.

  • Support product inventory levels, vendor warehousing and product shipment schedules.

  • Build strong alliances across all functions and is a strategic liaison with Product Development, Merchandising, and Customer Service Teams to carry out all sales and service initiatives.
  • Market and product analytics – ongoing data analysis.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or entrepreneurship strongly preferred. An advanced degree such as an MBA is a plus.
  • 3+ years working experience in a manufacturing/sales/retail environment with leadership experience.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Results and success-oriented, conveying a sense of urgency and driving issues to closure.

  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with people in an open, friendly, and accepting manner.

  • Able to develop new approaches for situations in which standard approaches do not apply.

  • Adaptable and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.

  • Able to navigate the various functions within accounts including procurement, marketing, product development, planning and manufacturing.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.

  • Must be accomplished at developing / delivering formal presentations.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Ability to travel as required, 15% of the time. (Travel)
