Specific Responsibilities

Established apparel company is seeking an experienced, well-rounded Intern who has an excellent eye for trends and fabric, and is a multitasker who thrives in a fast-moving environment.


Our NYC based Summer Internship program offers college students the opportunity to learn about Li & Fung and have hands on work experience, learning from our business leaders sharing their invaluable experience and industry knowledge. Our ideal candidates are smart, hard-working, goal-oriented, creative thinkers and willing to commit to every level of participation. This is a full-time, paid internship in our LF Sourcing division. The program includes bi-monthly meetings with industry executives, volunteer opportunities, and the chance to make a real impact on the company through a long-term summer project designed by executives.


-Location: New York, New York

-Hours: 40/week

-Paid: $13/hour

-Internship starts June 4th & ends August 10, 2018


Roles and Responsibilities:

      -Research retail market for trends in theme, fabric, wash, trim, and style.

-Flat sketching in Illustrator

-Creation of tech packs with basic knowledge of garment construction

-Work with designers to create original embroideries and allover prints in Photoshop/illustrator 

-Collaborate with designers to create seasonal trend reports to present to new and current customers

-Help to manage fabric library

-Keep showroom and design room organized

-Assisting designers in day to day tasks and responsibilities

Skills and Requirements

  • College student entering junior or senior year in August 2018
  • Fashion Design Majors Only!
  • Team player with a passion for Design & Development
  • Ability to work independently
  • Analytical skills and strong decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks
